A portrait collage made with real film.

There’s lots of exciting things in the works here at Juna Photography, including a huge announcement early next week.

In the calm before the storm, I thought I’d revisit a collage I made in 2010, after my brother and his wife and daughter came to visit us in Vancouver.

I love to photograph with film, using cameras which take me away from my usual process. In this case I used a cheap plastic camera called a Holga, and I deliberately misused it in order to cause the images to overlap and create a sort of narrative effect.

I really like the result. It tells a lovely story about little Karolina’s summer adventures and brings back some great memories….
